Holy Week Worship Schedule
Join us on a journey as we retrace Jesus's steps, beginning with his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, his trial and execution, and finally, the empty tomb and his Resurrection on Easter. Throughout the week, we offer special services designed to help us immerse ourselves in the story and gain a fresh perspective on these significant events.

Experiencing God

Yada-sq

Memory Verse: “Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” John 14:23 (ESV)

Day 1

John 14:23

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (ESV)
The word obedience gets a bad rap. This text says keeping the word, obeying the direction given, is the embodiment of love. You’ve come full circle in your loving relationship with God. Love is the pure motivator and love is the full fruit outcome of loving action.

  • What does your current obedience reveal about your love for God?
  • How does God’s love for you affect your thoughts, decisions, and behavior?
  • Have you felt affirmed in God’s love in the aftermath of following God’s direction?
  • Identify the most meaningful word from God today.
  • Reword that into a prayer.
  • How will you actively respond?

Day 2
Exodus 6:2-3

And God said to Moses, “I am Yahweh—‘the Lord.’ I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty’ —but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh, to them. (NLT)

We keep returning to Moses and his burning bush interview with God. He asks God, “Who are you?” the very heart of our Yada drive to know God. God’s answer gives us a promise, God hasn’t finished revealing Himself to you. God will continue to reveal more about His character as you continue faithfully engaging with Him and following His will.

  • Recall your first steps of faith in God. How have your experiences expanded your knowledge of God over the years?
  • What is exciting about the door of opportunity God has shown you?
  • Identify the most meaningful word from God today.
  • Reword that into a prayer.
  • How will you actively respond?

Day 3
Genesis 22:2

He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to lthe land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”(ESV)

Abraham’s time on Mount Moriah was a learning experience. Deeper challenges in obedience bring deeper trust. God won’t take shortcuts or easy routes as he matches your heart and character to His.

  • What’s been the scariest step of faith so far in your walk with God?
  • What significant lesson did it contain? How did God prove faithful?
  • How have you become more like Jesus through your active faith?
  • What qualities of your character are clearly the result of God’s work in you?
  • Who can you share your faith story with?
  • Identify the most meaningful word from God today.
  • Reword that into a prayer.
  • How will you actively respond?

Day 4
Mark 14:13-15

He sent two of his disciples and told them, “Go into the city. You will meet a man carrying a jug of water. Follow him. When he goes into a house, tell the owner that the teacher asks, ‘Where is my room where I can eat the Passover meal with my disciples?’ He will take you upstairs and show you a large room. The room will be completely furnished. Get everything ready for us there.” (GWT)

Close your eyes and follow these two disciples through the streets of Jerusalem. First a man carrying water, not common. Then an open door with room to spare in a holiday packed city. Step by step, turn by turn Jesus is proven true. When we follow we find the proof of God’s promises.

  • What promise in scripture has been most significant in your past?
  • What promise in Scripture gives you confidence for the future?
  • Identify the most meaningful word from God today.
  • Reword that into a prayer.
  • How will you actively respond?

Day 5
Luke 9:51

The time was coming closer for Jesus to be taken to heaven. So he was determined to go to Jerusalem. (GWT)

Different translations go with different phrases: “set his face”, “resolutely”, “determined”. Jesus would not let anything prevent Him from accomplishing His Father’s will. Apply resolution, determination to your steps in walking through the door of opportunity God has shown you. Give it your focus with Christ beside you to guide you.

  • Where do you feel tired, discouraged, distracted?
  • How can you persevere with the Holy Spirit’s power and wisdom?
  • What do you know God wants you to do? What steps will grow you to meet that challenge? Consider training or apprenticing options.
  • Identify the most meaningful word from God today.
  • Reword that into a prayer.
  • How will you actively respond?
