Clothed in Love

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14 NLT

Day by day, as I reflect on God’s gift of grace that I soooo appreciate (breathe deep), I begin to recognize how people labor under their burden of guilt. How do I let them know peace is available through God’s grace?

For starters, clothe yourselves with love. Pointing out their guilt and need of forgiveness may not be your first step. Worship Jesus by living a life that freely matches the forgiveness you have received. Dress up in Jesus’ love for you. If your life is devoted to Jesus, they’ll get the vision.

You don’t have to sell God’s good news. Rather, be a satisfied customer. Radiate the newness God pours into a forgiven life. Let the love you have received spill over into the place they live. Let them see how far trust in God’s love can carry you.

Pray, listen, ask questions, but above all ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to love this person as Jesus does. Pray that soon they would be ready to hear about the miracle of God’s forgiveness.
