Day 2

Jesus tells you… But Jesus replied to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples (and all His other followers), He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven by believing in Me, and following Me is My brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:48-49 AMP

My reaction -

So many family meals shared. Even years later I can call the people who helped me become a Christ follower and it’s just like talking to family: they can tell it to me straight, but truth always comes wrapped in love.

I feel like that’s Jesus tone here when he asks, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” There’s the kind of people who have just walked in, sheepishly late. “Good to see you.”

And one day hopefully they “become” the people who go to all the trouble to get one person in the door. They know the truth and extend the love.
