Topic: Advent Passage: Luke 2:22–2:38
Simeon waited and watched for the promised Messiah. He trusted God would keep his promise and did not let the distractions of daily life keep him from being ready when Jesus did indeed come. Instead of being distracted by the here and now, we take time to lift up our heads and look to the sky! We watch for our salvation to come. (This is why the color of Advent is the color of the sky – blue.) The fact that Jesus came once as a baby in Bethlehem assures us that he will come again has he has promised. This Advent we make our personal devotional life a priority. We keep our focus on our coming Savior.
